Cheddar

Cheddar is the broader application and branding line for practical life-organization and money-related tools.

It sits above any one specific app and above any one specific business workflow.

Cheddar is where the user-facing product family gathers when the purpose is to help real people manage everyday life, money, and organization more clearly without surrendering privacy or paying unnecessary SaaS costs.

Current Shape

Current surfaced directions include:

  • CheddarBooks the small-business and recordkeeping division under Cheddar
  • CheddarMoney a broader personal-finance and money-visibility direction that has already surfaced in the imported discussions
  • other practical log-style and recordkeeping tools that may still need clearer placement

Relationship To CheddarBooks

CheddarBooks is not the whole of Cheddar.

CheddarBooks is one division under it, focused on micro-business and small-business bookkeeping, recordkeeping, and related support flows.

Relationship To NEXUS

Cheddar uses the NEXUS and FnHCI/FnUI foundations.

It is not itself the platform.

That means:

  • NEXUS remains the foundation workspace
  • FnHCI/FnUI remains the interaction and runtime platform line
  • Cheddar remains one family of concrete user-facing products built on top

Current Direction

The current product direction grounded in the imported history is:

  • practical and personally useful first
  • privacy-conscious by default
  • friendly to self-hosting and owner control where that matters
  • open and inspectable where the rights and handling boundaries allow it
